Firearm app interview

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! Just looking for a bit of info!

I apllied for my fac and shotgun co-terminous in june of this year both myself and my 2 referees had our interview from the flo within 3 weeks which i thot was very good and all seemd to b moving smoothly but ive had very little contact from them since ive made a few phone calls to them only to b told youll hear soon. I recieved a letter from them last week stating tht before they can make a decision as to wether i should get my fac or not i have to go in for an interview with the chief of police and speak to him about my app! Just wondering if any 1 can shed any light on it bcoz out of every1 ive spoke to no 1 seems to think tht this is standard procedure! Ps the im from glasgow and my firearm dept is strathclyde!

Thanks

That some crazy ***** going on there!

I have never ever heard of somebody needing an interview with the Chief before a FAC / SGC grant, that is what the FEO is supposed to do. I would give your shooting org a bell and see what they say. Have they told you why you have to see him?

I'm suprised he has time to do FAC / SGC interviews as we never even see ours!, maybe it's part of the cost cutting exercise :eh:

never heard of this before, but remember it's not over till the fat copper lady sings ,please keep us informed what happens ,,but whatever happens do not go to the interview alone ,and you cannot be denied having a "friend" with you ,,it may also make the police temper what they say to you ,have a note book and use it and let them see you using it . good luck .

Well this lot could certainly have an effect as it doesn't show you to be a respectable, law abiding person.

That said, I've never heard of them saying you need another interview like this, please post up what your shooting organization says on this, it's a little odd.
