39TDS
How can they write "permission to purchase" if you don't send it? I think send it. Or ask them. Edited December 30, 2012 by 39TDS

rapid basher
They needed mine to be sent in Sent it back when I run low on ammo And back again 12weeks and counting A nightmare Avon and Somerset !
bedwards1966
You send it in so they can amend it. However if your firearms department are a little slow and you may need your certificate to buy ammo while they process it you can send in the variation and keep your certificate until they approve it, and send it in then. This is more hassle and longer overall, but it means you aren't without a certificate for as long, which is an issue for some.
Luckyshot
Durham allow you to send a photocopy in and when they are ready to issue your new cert you swap your old one for your new one. Thats how I do mine.

Well as the feo will pay me a visit I thought I could hand it over then instead If I do send it in would I still be able to go lamping with just a photo copy? Yes you will still be able to go lamping when you cert has been sent in. You are not guarenteed to get a visit from your flo I havent for any variation Ive ever had. 39TDS
Well as the feo will pay me a visit I thought I could hand it over then instead Sorry mate, I was basing my reply on my own experiences. Usually in and out in less than a week and no visit. I appreciate this is very far from the norm in many cases.
