Saga eurotrp - excessive recoil?

Recommended Posts

Has anybody been using the Saga Euotrap 28 Gram 7 1/2 's ( picture), i was using the Hull Superfasts and found them to be pretty good ( despite

reports on other forums).

I saw the Sagas last week in a farm store and they were a good price so i bought 250 of them as a practise shell, i put 100 of them through my Beretta 390 yesterday, usually on that gun the recoil is negligable, however with the Sagas it was like i was firing heavy game loads, the recoil being really notiable and this morning my shoulder was blue! ive never had that from firing a large amount of shells from my auto, and ive had days where ive shot 200 rounds plus with no bruising .

Are they usually this firery or do you think its possible ive bought a dodgy batch? was happy with the way they dusted the clays, just not my bruised shoulder. Would dread to think the carange theyd cause to somebody putting a few hundred through an over and under

ive found them to be a very good cartridge for use in the hide, and yes i agree they do kick (not that i notice to much or complain) i think they are a hard htting cartridge and i like them for that

I use Saga cartridges for just about all my shooting now - Export 30g 6s (green) for game and Eurotrap 28g (red) or 24g (blue) 7.5s for clays but I've never found the recoil excessive infact both are smoother than most other cartridges I've used and that includes some premium quality / priced cartridges too. I'm not sure if a dodgey batch is possible but something doesn't sound right to me if they are really kicking you about that much.

The cartridges ive got are in a green see through cse, where you can clearly see the powder, wad and shot, look quite similar to the express supreme game.

Its strange, ive never shot a cartridge ( with the exception of the wildfowling magnums) with that much kick and was quite taken back.

I had really good results with them, they dust clays and are as fast as the Hull superfasts, id be quite happy to continue to use them.

As strange as it sounds as i was loading my gun i ntoiced the brass on some of the shells had almost " worn away" and undeneath was a silver metal coluring, these were new factory sealed shells so no idea how thats happened.
