Recommended Posts

Cheers i ve got data for them, but i need data for a 175 gn bullet i wanted Vhit N140 but the availability was poor and the price was prohibitive.

Ive got data fot N140 and according to my burn rate tables their very similar, is it ok to use N140 data for Reloder 15?

I just looked in my old Alliant manual and for 308 180grn bullets (two types) and it ranges from 41 to 44grn max charges with a 2.750" COL and around 2500-2600+fps.

I remember RL15 as being quite forgiving and giving good case filling cap'. I would choose RL15 any day.

Me, I would start at 42 grain and look for any sign of pressure the easiest one being a flatened primer. Being as forgiving as it is I would be surprised if you don't go beyond 44grn!

I don't know (just now) where BL-C2 falls speed wise compared to RL15 (but think BL-C2 a little faster) but I was using 45grn under a 170grn bullet with similar COL for about 2600+fps untill recently, thing liked going down the same hole!!

Let us know how it goes.

Best wishes.

Years ago I had a Parker hale 308 that once the lite barrel was free floated completly the thing would chuck hornady 165grn SPBT down the same hole on RL15!

Lol, mine was that I think on what I would call a American classic stock.

I had a night mare getting it to shoot until i noticed the whippy barrel just leaving a witness mark from the forend. After some relieving it suddenly would print a clover leaf at one hundred yards for three shots regular!
