Sean Richo
As am new to pigeon shooting could someone tell me the difference between a floater and a bouncer do they both use the same rod. Or are they the same thing
Greenhunter
Ok, my take on it is this:- A bouncer is a flexible rod, usually stuck in the ground at a fairly low angle. It can have either a lastic, foamed winged bird on the end or, more usually a dead bird on a set of wing spreaders. The movement is limited to up and down when blown by the wind. A floater is more than likely a plastic, foam-winged decoy which is attached to a flexible rod and sits in a wire cradle. The rod in turn sits in a hollow groundstake which allows the bird to turn with the wind as well as rocking in the cradle and moving up and down. Not good for real, dead birds but gives more movement. GH
Sean Richo
Right think I got it now so the floater can spin round unlike the bouncer that is fixed to whatever position you stick it in the ground so take it the floater will be more popular as it will probably move more. Thanks for the explanation.
