hi kent

my first paragraph was for you as in my honnest opinion i dont agree that hpr's are easier to train than spaniels, the rest was a guide to andy to get his dog back on track using a proven method that has worked on mine and many other hpr's that ive trained. :-)

thanks it had me baffled, your welcome to your opinion in many ways you are correct of course but I doubt its really fair to compare the two. comparing a cocker to a springer or a chessie to a lab or a viz to a gwp is a little more balanced but I suppose it comes down to the individual dog as much as the breed then I think

thought i'd share as i was impressed today.

went to the beech this eve, and made a point of keeping him on lead around other dogs, untill i found one i thought was ok, IE another viz as it happens and chatted to the owner then released him, they played in a controled manner, went to leave and i saw another dog arrive and play with that other viz.... oh no i thought, this is going to take some work to get him over to me..... 3 pips of the whistle and he came running straight away!! result :)

was a nice little victory! chopped hotdog might have helped!

was making him sit and stay when other dogs came past and let them walk by without moving ect and he did really well!

small steps restarting from square one :)
