Stratts
Got invited on a friends annual hare drive on Saturday which was another 1st for me. 14 guns split in 2 teams, 7 walking guns driving the hares to 7 waiting guns on the blind side of a hedge or sitting in a ditch. Total after only 4 hours shooting and 7 small drives, 57 hares and 3 bunnies!! I can honestly say I've never seen so many in such a relatively small area and there must be twice that still roaming around!! They shot 42 last year and it has had no affect on the numbers at all which is amazing considering the weather of last year! I ended up with 5 for 9 shots, with the last drive ruining my numbers coz I missed both barrels twice at 2 that, on reflection with my inexperience were just a bit too far away!! The numbers aint right in the 2nd pic as someone had a few in their truck! Cheers
al4x
It's a job that has to be done, I've been on 2 days this year and we did shoot a lot more than that but 50 odd guns and more ground than we could cover in 2 days. It's a day it's always best to let them come to you and keep the range down. Just by keeping still they often run at you, I think I finished with about 25 personally but there were shed loads about. It's a different day out I enjoy The social side of it more than the actual shooting Edited February 25, 2013 by al4x
