7mm 08 reloads

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I've just bought a Remington 700 sps in 7-08. ( wanted a Wetherby but importer messed me about). I've binned the stock and put a Boyds thumbhole in applejack laminate on. Now the main question. What do I feed It on? I've got some ppu 140 grain fodder not bad but want better. Any ideas?

Anything in 140 grn depends on gun and what you want it to do (140's are optimum bullet weight in 7-08) I ran 140 SGK in mine

That's the weight I use. Got some sst's in 140. What powder do you use? At moment I've got H414 and H380. Did use Vit but it's getting £&@@?, expensive.

vhit N150 and Hogdens H4350, I don't own it now it was sold to BK on here- having seriously reduced my rifle collection and scaled back all my calibres for purpose

I use 140gr SST's in mine. Fantastic bullets - I think you'll be very pleased with them if you shoot the smaller deer species. You may be really pleased when you shoot the bigger ones too, it's just something I haven't done with this rifle yet.

I didn't realise you could get 7-08 Prvi? It wasn't on their price list last time I looked. Might have to try that.

Kranks in Pudsy had 20000 when I got mine. Cheap ammo. Would cost more to buy the cases. Going to try to reload the used cases. I need help to decide what powder to use. Have used vit. 140 in both .308 and the 7mm-08 had good results. I've taken a few fallow does with reloaded 140gr sst over vit 140. Thinking about trying that ram shot powder Kranks are selling. I would like to use one powder for both. So any ideas?
