Gun Watch
A. MINO-GARDONE V.T. IDEAL £300 12 gauge Shotgun Private Seller Used - Very Good Condition Workington, Cumbria Side by Side, Improved Cylinder, Full Choke, 28" barrels Description Hi All, I've put very good condition but I guess thats based on a 60ish year old gun. I'll be honest and open about any question regarding condition and photograph every part you wish. Originally bought as I planned to get into a bit of pigeon shooting...work had other ideas. After I purchased it I did a little research and the are apparently rare and of great quality. It's a lovely gun in good condition all round, fantastic engraving and barrels are in very good condition. IDEAL is written between the barrels. The photos aren't of great quality and make the gun look a little grubby, I assure you it is not. I haven't got that much detail on the background of the gun as i'm predominantly a rifle man. Here's a little info I found; Arturo Mino Armi was a very small workshop in Gardone Val Trompia Brescia, he was very passionate in his trade and used holland type mechs, I have spoken recently with one of the best Small workshop gun builders Mr.Giuseppe Pirlo , to many considered a Maestro in the side by side construction, and he told me that he knew very well Arturo Mino and is knowledge, handcraft and creativity in the buidlings of gun, he did actually start as an aprentice by A. Mino. The Gun in your Posession its an Ideal type model 70cm barrels,1* right barrel, 4**** left barrel, what we call a woodland gun, excellent for woodcock and a good allrounder. There isnt many of these guns left and are part of the italian gun making history. The gun itself its superb, construstion and steel used, second to none, as you will probably noticed the ingraving and the blued steel on the holland mech type are delightfull. •28" Barrels •Non-Ejector •Double Trigger •Improved Cylinder/Full Choke...I think! I'm looking for £300.00. Based largely on what I paid, I've seen a site selling one for a lot more but i'm not a greedy fella. Please get in touch for any further info. UNiCAD
Hi Craig I am interested in the gun but not at the price you are asking these guns fetch up to £120 - £150 for prestine condition. If you are still interested then I would be happy to make you an offer based on the condition etc. Regards Dean
Craig_JH
Dean, Cheers for the comments pal. For the sake of a hundred quid I may as well keep hold of it. I bought it for a bit of rough shooting and I'm more of a rifle man...hence the price I paid. Lesson learned I guess. Where did you get the price from? So do you know much about these guns? John Bennett
My late wife bought me one of these back in 1995, from a gunsmith in Great Missenden. She paid £240 for it back then. I got it serviced at Oxford Gun back in 2016 and they said they would put it up for sale for no-less than £500. Not selling though, its got sentiment attached to it.
