Thanks for the offer/ info but in all honesty the warranty with a new gun is pushing me towards that route, im hoping the shop will be feeling generous and throw in some sweeteners to as I need a slip and cleaning kit

Oli you won't need a warranty with a miroku, they just don't go wrong and if it ever did they are cheep to fix, I would have a used G5 anyday over a new G1 that you will lose £400 in one day

I agree a good quality gun like a Miroku/Browning or Beretta will do 100,000 carts with only cleaning and possibly a couple of replacement firing pins (minor bits etc) then a service and some others a good idea (springs etc) they are well supported and parts availability is good. Only thing to watch out for are shot out trap guns that may be 5 years old but doen 100,000+ shots a 10 yearold gun thats fired 20,000 is a better buy (not that they come with a record of shots taken mind!)

Cheers guys, i was uber sensible in the end. Simpsons had a nice second hand mk70 grade 1 in that seemed to fit me really well, so i picked that up along with a cleaning kit, 250 carts, a slip and snap caps to practice with at home all in was just over 1k. So im in the good books at home for not spending too much and for a first gun i think ive got something pretty nice that hasnt been used much and i can learn on. I can always upgrade later if i feel the need.... thanks for all the input from you chaps :)
