very quiet morning on the carrions

Recommended Posts

Went out yesterday morning got set up and the first bird came in! I *** the gun barrel caught in the net ( was not happy) finaly got a bead on it and missed it completely!!! Not another bird came near after that! Although there was alot flying around!! Hide was good pattern was as iv used for years with great success, im putting it down to the time of year, it is fairly quiet every where at the min!

so i moved on to another farm set up between 2 woods on a grass feild, built a hide into a pine tree!

Managed 6 carrions and a rook! Worth going out as its 6 less carrions about!

Anybody else having quiet spells? I looking forward to may/june should produce some good bags!

Cheers terry thanks mate, im a great beleiver in making the hide look as natural as possible, unfortunately the birds seemed to be else where abd alot of them were in the wood more than likely on the nest! Oh yes the bed was to warm thismorning

Hi John yes seen 2 foxes but not able to take a safe shot to many bloody sheep and lambs. If i'm out crow shooting i try to get my decoys out where passing crows can see them from afar. Not fussy where my hide is placed as long as iv'e got a good back ground. If you seen where my hide where last few times you'd laugh :lol: but worked well. Not moving a muscle is the key IMO and i hardly ever use a crow caller. Decoys close 12 to 20 paces max by the time they realize something not right its to late. ATB Terry
