NickB65
Two fields of rape and both hit very hard to the point there is hardly anything there. Smaller fields of rape seems to have faired better and showing some good growth but these are few. Decision will be made this week as to whether we spray and drill or stick with the rape. JDog
On one of my farms two fields of rape are grown by a contractor who makes rape seed oil himself. The rape has never taken, there are huge areas where there is not a rape plant to be seen, yet he considers that pigeons have eaten it! I have yet to see a pigeon on that field in the last six months and it is a field I know well as it is under one of the best flight lines I know. garden gun
Your contractor canot know his trade. Fields round here are like Charlie with mange. Bald patches everywhere and plants that are showing are stunted. Low areas are still flooded with ponds with duck on them. No woodies or corvids to be seen. Weater anyone?
