sitsinhedges Posted May 7, 2013 Report Share Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) You fit the powder scoop on the end of the beam. Put the ball bearing in the 0 notch. wind the vernier scale down to zero (so it is showing an equal amount of the white marker lines either side of zero. Then you wind the brass wheel up or down the threaded bar until the arrow meets exactly with the marker on the scale body. There is a small button on the apron of the vernier scale that you can push in to lock it at a certain weight that you are aiming for, and push back out from the back if you wish to change it.
