archiebald Posted May 10, 2013 Report Share Posted May 10, 2013 Yes iv used it and it was pretty poor, in the end I did a full strip with Blackwood Casey rust and blue remover and then full reblue with Phillips gun blue and it was superb! Before I blued the gun (shotgun barrels) I poured boiling water over the barrels to. Make sure 100% it was free of any grease/oil and dipped and brushed the barrels in the solution. When we did it me and my brother gasped in shock on the first brush stroke at how well it took. It was the first and last reblue I did so must be good stuff if even I could do it lol. magpieman Posted May 10, 2013 Author Report Share Posted May 10, 2013 lol ive just found a small tub of phillips gun blue paste 3.90 says its perfect for sorting scratches, from what your saying the prep is important to get good results, i'll do a bit of lookin n reading around, as long as i can find clear and simple instructions that'd be the way to go i rekon, those tiny scratches on my TX are ******* me off lol nice one archie =) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
