Yh his a brilliant chap makes the videos so clean and crisp does a proffisanl job. One thing I will say about the Yukon sights which worry me a little is they bug out a little with incorrect lighting say your shooting around farm buildings(at night) which have flood lights in the distance if you was looking through the scope and just caught the edge of one of them flood lights it take a while for the scope to settle down (glows very bright) think you have to turn it off and wait for the glow to settle how long that is I am not sure :-s that's honestly all I have herd about them maybe the new ones are abit more stream lined let me have a look.

quote form Yukon (The scope may flicker or flash when used in a bright environment; to correct this, place the cap over the objective lens and enter a dark environment. The scope will restore itself to a natural functioning state in several minutes or hours, depending on how long the scope had been exposed to the light.)

Hope this helps you decide if it was me I think I would prob go for Yukon especially if your only using the one rifle just don't point it at a light by accident lol would love to have hunters vermin's land it's always got so many rabbits.

Nick :-)

hi paul, with the 501b torch and an oslon black IR its great for air rifle ranges mate up around 70 80yrds no problem when you consider your only shooting 40yrds its well within its range, the full cost including the torch is around £100 but with the bigger torch you can bump the price up another £45, the range you can see with the 66mm torch is unreal, hope this helps bud

build your own. its so easy and you can spec it to what you want. i have built a watec 902h unit. i cherry picked the best bits from other peoples home made kits and its brilliant. it cost around £250 and i can easily see past 250 yrds. im near mold in north wales and will show anyone if there interested just pm me. If it does break or needs upgrading in the future you will be able to do it yourself. i cant understand why you would want to buy a very expensive nv units when you can build a unit yourself for under half the cost.

i have built a watec 902h unit

I tried the watec 902h and have to say it was not as good as my bullet camera ,yet it was 3x the price, every body raves about the watecs but when you look at the tests Rolaids has done it suprisingly came bottom of the list in his top 5 cameras for homebuilds,

I personally think they are too tempremental with setting up although I do agree they are a superb camera but chose my bullet camera over one. the cost of my build with the crelant 66mm torch (IR) works out about £140-£150 so this is a definite reason to build your own and with the big torch the night becomes day , have to say I use the 66mm torch as a spotter and use the 501b on the rifle once the quarry is in a shootable range

i can understand were your coming from, i had a bit of a nightmare setting the watec up but once set the picture is amazing. now it takes 10 seconds to fit the full system to my rifle. to be honest i took a lot of advice from nightvisionforum.co.uk, most people on there use the watec system. i can see distances that i would never shoot with my 17hmr. there is nothing better in building your own kit. you can build it to suit any budget.

were I,m coming from is you don't need a watec for your night vision,as said I,m using a bullet camera and it actually performs better than the watec ,that is all I was saying ,oh and its a third of the price so you can make a seriously good NV setup for £150

looks and performs excellent mick, well done mate

Evo which torch is the 66mm one pal?

Ta.

its the one using the crelant 66mm front end, with the oslon black LED it will cost you £60 to build mate but the distances you can see with it is well over 200 yrds and it runs at 850nm IR that's what I,m using as my spotter torch but actually on the rifle I have a ultrafire 501b with an oslon black(bought off mick above) and an aspheric lens this is giving me IR nightvision through my camera and scope out to 70/80 mtrs, perfect for air rifle ranges

here is a picture paul of the two torches

Evo, are you using the Ash Horton lens with the 501 or the dx lens? I only ask because I found the Ash Horton lenses to be superior in terms of throw/focus. You might get rimfire ranges with it then. Certainly that's what some blokes tests suggest.
