DIY NightVision

Recommended Posts

So, I decided to make my own. Based on the NiteSite, CubblyCat et al principal of a camera, and scope mounted screen.

The results are quite pleasing. I can shoot at ranges between 5 yards and 450 yards and see further still. The camera is very sensitive though, I have to use a customised flip-up to restrict the light when shooting at ranges under 70 yards.

Take a look. I don't think it's too shabby for under £200 (excluding the X Searcher!).

It's good, a little more fiddly than the NS200, but I tested it in anger this week and if shooting at under 100 yards you can pretty much just keep the flip-up closed (it has a 13mm hole in a 50mm cover and then a further swingaway cover with a 6mm hole for daytime use). I'm well chuffed with it. The torch is heavier than the NS unit, but I pretty much shoot off quad sticks or out of a vehicle these days.

doubt it. people usually guard there designs. unwilling to help those of us less gifted with technical bits etc.

Its not that I think they are unwilling to help those of us less gifted

Its the case of the amount of hours some of Them put in to searching for the right bits and then even more bloody hours putting them together, finding that don't work getting other bits spending more cash

just for some one to say give us a parts list

go and ask Pulsar Night Site or Carle more for a parts list Ha Ha I Know what they will say

there are these wonderful things called exploded diagrams. usually quite available on the internet etc.

"unwilling to help those of us less gifted with technical bits etc." and apologies for this earlier comment. written in a fit of frustration. I didn't know these guys plans had been ripped off by someone (from what i hear) now i see why they maybe be hesitant to freely hand out info on they're builds.

Don't worry mate I was a bit blunt

it seem's to be the thing wear some of us chat to one another then all of a sudden its on the bay or been made and for sale by others before we have even really defined it

I can see were dave is going with his new unit and good luck to him with it as looks like a all in one unit ready to go

I can only think of the parts that have gone into that and I bet its been tweaked over and over again with hours of work gone into it

I know with my units its on going all the time, with better stuff coming out all the time to play with

thats why I stopped doing videos as posting as what ever I put was bull as some said or fabed in some way

and made me laugh as what did i have to gain as wasn't selling anything or getting freebe's
