Lord Geordie
As per my post in the general section, I am starting a new project. After my last attempt to create a torch out of a 12g cartridge I am looking to create a new and different design one utilising a complete 3&1/2" cartridge. I do not have access to a Lathe but need to turn out a 4" long alloy tube 19mm O/D and 17mm I/D I also have to thread this the complete length. The design in mind is very intricate and involves a fixed LED and reflector, battery, switch unit all housed in a 12g cartridge. I know what battery I am using and already have the electronic components to build a proto type , but now need to find a small lathe capable of turning alloy and threading. I have found a Unimat 1 would be ok for turning but they dont have screw cutting capability. The like of the unimat 3 can be adapted but the prices are too high. By the time I buy a lathe and tool it up it's going to cost a small fortune

Lord Geordie
Evo! To be Honest I really want to get kitted out with a cheap small lathe! I have had a few bits recently where a Lathe would have came in handy. Even now I need to make a Key for a leveling leg. It will pay for it's self in no time at all.
