mrikirkby
I have been following evos post on home made nv and i like the idea but question is for airgun ranges is the screen likely to light your face up ? Nv is so we can see them but they cant see us ? So what do you use tv style or dedicated monocular with scope adapter ??
evo
hi mate,,firstly thanks for following my thread, there are three things you can do,, 1. just use the nightvision on its own,(I,ve had no problems with rabbits being spooked) 2. put a red filter over the screen this will take the shine down off the lcd,(stuff used in false led windows about £2 for an A4 sheet) 3. ware a face mask(camo) to be honest I just use mine as standard and have had no problems I have even got as close as 20yrds without them being interrupted in whatever they where doing , but if you need too,, then just try number two or three hope this helps bud,,any problems then just contact me and I,ll help ya out no probs
FalconFN
Firstly, even at night rabbits see movement very well so no matter what you use, if you move too quickly they'll scarper. Secondly, I prefer to use the viewfinder on my Sony cam because I like one eye to remain accustomed to the dark so I'm not blind after using it. Screens are easier and more comfortable to use but they do light up your face and if you move around a bit you'll spook them, and they make moving around safely more difficult, viewfinders make the shooting position awful but they are discreet and don't blind you.
