Glenshooter
I'm helping a couple of youngsters start shooting and a few of them have been offered places on the Shooting School's Academy of the ground where they shoot. This costs a couple of hundred quid (over £400 in one) but does give some lessons, cartridges at a discount and branded jackets and hats etc. What surprises me is that 3 lads in the last 2 weeks have all mentioned this to me. Also, a (national standard) rifle coach has also mentioned "Keep the lads shotgun shooting as that's where the money is going." Anyone know if the Academies are a national inititative with shooting grounds/schools being encouraged to start an academy? I'm a little sceptical, perhaps overly so. bakerboy
Contact BASC and the CPSA and see if they know anything about it.
Salopian
Glenshooter, Where are you based? Oxford Gun Co. promote schools shooting but it is more of a business venture than an educational initiative. BASC Young Shots ought to be developed more towards shooting education and training.
