badsworth
The gap between the bottom of the scope hood on my Swarovski and the barrel of my Steyr Scout is very tight. Too tight methinks to fit a Butler Creek flip up lens cap because they have a fairly thick rubber cap which has to be pushed over the scope. Can anyone suggest an alternative - perhaps a flip up cap with only a thin rubber cap, or one which screws into the threaded insert? This must be a common problem with the popularity of 50 mm front objective lenses (and bigger). Thanks Badsworth
pin
Slightly higher mounts? Swarovski don't list a scope cover on their site
JohnGalway
Had the same problem with the Hillver (?) mounts I had first. Scope was too close to the barrel for my comfort, trouble getting an A4 sheet between the two (the thin side before anyone says it). Got Butler Creek scope caps and *ahem* adjusted the width of the bottom with a very sharp knife, worked for me. Then I went and swoped the Hilver mounts for a higher pair of Optilocks... Oh well
