kdubya
Well had the hypa flaps on test today not many pigeon about (in fact not many about at all apart from one big flock that would not decoy to save a life), but first impressions of the things are very favourable, wing flap is very good once the "correct" angle of the bird is achieved and a little mod with dacron (fishing line is employed to stop the wings folding back) T the hypa flaps are surprisingly strong? the rotary completely blew over at one point the wind was that strong! but the "birds" did not tear or start to break up, in fact the only prob seen was that one of the birds bodies detached from the locating frame that fits to your rotary arm, a simple push make that hefty shove got the show back on the road, now keep in mind that if the wind was strong enough to "lift" the body off the frame then the body must be well strong enough? as I had a job to push it back on, a touch of epoxy will prevent a reoccurance, overall my impression was good the few birds that were about definately saw the rotary and the birds, and showed interest though they would not fully comit giving no alternative than to take long shots, still I reckon that come some harsh weather and an improvement in the birds willingness to decoy these hypa flaps may be a winner, interestingly of the birds shot only one had much in its crop? three red berries and a small amount of rape, the others had NOTHING yet all birds were in good condition, so are they so secure in the food available in the woods and fields in these mild temps that they feel no need to stuff themselves? hence the unwillingness to decoy? cheers KW

Mark the ref to tearing up or breaking apart was that as the things are so light and LOOK flimsy you half expect them to? but they held up well in fact far better than I would have had I been stuck on the end of a rotating arm spinning about in a gale force wind, anyway get your hand in your pocket you (or so hawkeye says) tight *** cheers KW
