TJ91
I have just been rumaging through my shooting gear trying to clear out unwanted gear. I have come across the 14 full bodied deeks my dad used for..well atleast 20years. They are badly discoloured, some near enough all black now. I want to spruce them up abit and get using them again. What paint have you found best for the grey body? And where to get it please

indio
I'm sure that TC and others will have their ideas and they have been at this far longer than me , but when I wanted to take the shine off some new plastic shell decoys so they didn't reflect the sun so much I went into Homebase/B&Q type stores and bought some small "trial pots" of paint. I think they were about 1.99 each or 3 for a fiver so you can get yourself a black white and grey which should sort you out ok. The shells probably took 2 hours overall painting time (18 of them) and that included doing the body with grey the tail with black and the all important white neck and side flashes. Even if I do say so myself (no-one else will) I think they came out OK as they do pull the birds in (when there are some around that is) it's just that I can't hit the bstds when they do. good luck; PS... it's good to use some of your Dad's old gear. Mine passed away a few years ago but I always take a couple of bits of his old kit when I go shooting.
