Twist Rate v Bullet Weight?

Recommended Posts

I remember reading a good article years ago about 1200yd target shooters using 308w. They were talking about the optimum spin for their long target bullets. Most were after the liest amount of spin they could get away with not as much as they could have! I think it was to do with yaw at range,,,,it was a long time ago etc.

Frenchie,

14 twist 222 should do 35,40, 50, 53 and may be if lucky 55. You need to try. I have some 40 grain V max you can try, Don't know what powder you use? Barrels are funny things, don't always do what technically is correct.
