Teal
I've got a couple of friends mustard keen to try some clay pigeons, I've got all the requirements obviously. Was just wondering- does anyone here know any grounds near london or oxford. The plan is to bring one of my guns and then I give them tuition. I've spoken to bisley, but they would only allow me to book tuition through them (which is obviously rather expensive) so i said no. I just wanted to know if there were any grounds, where we could turn up and fire some clays off, standard of layout /facilty is not top priority. many thanks, will
apbuild
Teal, If your friends are absolute beginners and you want to give them a taste of basic targets at a cheap as chips price, you could always come to one of my 50 bird sporting shoots at Dorchester-on-Thames. We have no clubhouse, no tea or coffee facilities, (unless you bring a flask ), just a great bunch of regular members and a great deal of fun and humorous banter. I would charge £10 per gun for the fifty clays, shooters supply their own felt wad cartridges although we carry a limited amount to buy. Myself and my shooting partner John are always willing to lend our guns to newbies if needed, I shoot 12g and John a 20g, and our advice is always FOC. Let me know. Rob.
