Grazy
I just left my gun at the shop for a service as it jammed on my second shot at the clay ground this weekend. I clean it every time I shoot it but I just wondered what was involved in a yearly service. Just wondered what I'm getting for £75.
aris
Hopefully, something similar to this: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/253885-video-stripping-down-and-cleaning-a-686/ What kind of gun was it? mike-b
hopefully not a remington 1100/1187 there the easyst things in the world to strip and clean!!! it should involve a good strip down de grease and re lubing + inspection for worn parts! and if there a nice gunsmith a few test shots with diffrent size loads to make sure its working ok! unless your doing a lot of shoting i wouldnt bother getting it done every year maybe every 3? but thats just me as i dont put more than 1500 shells through a year and im uber anal about cleaning my guns! OvEr_KiLL
i thought a full strip and clean was £75, ie take everything out the reciever clean it and put it back together and charge you extra if it needs pieces eg. firing pin
Grazy
Thanks guys. It's a beretta 687s (made in 1991). It has around 1000 shells a year through it, no more.
welshwarrior
£75 is a bit pricey IMHO I charge £50 for a normal OU like yours plus any parts.

welshwarrior
Basic ou so beretta Browning type actions Check firing pin protrusion Stock off Guts out De grease everything Check all bearing surfaces for wear and tear. Re assemble lubing with an action grease that will stay on metal not soak into the wood. Particular attention to trigger mechanism and saftey catch/selector. Stock back on dry test. Strip degrease and lube forend iron. Gun all back together test firing pins again. Test fire ideally 21g 28g something heavy normally 36g depends on what customer wants clay gun light loads wildfowler pocket rockets.
