eccles
Went up to Jonathan's at Mid Wales Shooting Ground this morning to get some cartridges i'm nearly out . Had a chat with them all great friend of mine. Thought while i was up that way i'd go and see some farms that i shoot to see any crows about, and see how the corn etc was coming on. Few flying about and a few here and there. Popped into the yard of the furthest away first, about a hundred on the muck heap all jackdaws. Went looking for my mates found them chatting to a friend of theirs. I said lot of crows on the heap they have said walk round the cattle barns bloody hell they where coming out by the hundreds, walked round the back trees and electric lines where full of jackdaws, but it was bloody hot in the sun, found a spot for hide to shoot safely ,not the best place though, nowhere tidy to shoot from to where the crows are. Told them i'd give it a bash in the morning, might be a good mornings bashing.

eccles
Sounds like my place ha am off out after work tomoz for a few hours factor 50 out Yes bud sounds like your place, think i might be dropping them in the slurry pit to. I'm sure they are only there because all the fields ain't ready for them to attack. 4 huge sheds and still got cattle in some of them,so they are after the cattle feed, some better have a good belly full today as it might be their last. eccles
Don't get a lot of jackdaws in the 10 sq miles that i shoot. Only around the town fields, and villages do get them spreading out to the outside farms from Nov to early April when food is hard to come by. Some farms around here have in the last few years been doing,a mixed crop, pea mixed and then they do find them fields. Got farms further away as this 1 that do grow corn, barley but no rape or other crops. It should be a change from shooting carrion and rooks tomorrow if nothing crops up. eccles
Never made it this morning, did not sleep a wink last night my back was killing me. Would have been a good morning to nice and cloudy and cool to. Will try monday morning if all goes well. Been for a spin round the local area this morning not many crows to be seen anywhere. Think they must be in hiding .
