johnphilip
i am buying one of the cheap gdk clay traps. Rather than paying £70 for wireless remote were could i buy something cheaper that will do the same job. I am handy with a screw driver and stuff if one needs some mods, thanks for reading

Kermit the frog
In my experience both cheap traps and remotes are a false economy The gdk traps aren't very good, and don't fetch much second hand, I have people asking me to repair new ones You can't fix remotes except for loose wires and changing batteries, and the back up on cheapo's is non existant. After 30 years at it , I stick to Promatic & Laporte traps, Bowman are also good, and 'Morris' remotes, much better back up than RF and all of this stuff has a residual value kermit
johnphilip
I only can afford this trap at the moment and i dont think i will be selling it yet. I dont look at what something is worth secondhand i live for today. no matter what you buy you will loose money on it. i do tend to look after my stuff hell i still have my train set for 50 years ago. If it developes a fault and still under the year well i hope it will be repaired. Time will tell, but thanks for your advice.
