badsworth
Just back from a days beating and I thought I would share something with you all - I've never seen anything like it. We came across a flock (or whatever the collective noun is - I think it might be a 'murder' of Crows) of Crows tucking into the last of the maize in the cover crop around the edge of the field. The corn on the cob was past its best and some of the corn had started to rot - and ferment. Several of the Crows were unable to fly - only hop pathetically in zig-zags across the field. They were literally p!ssed out of their tiny minds. Needless to say several of the beaters dogs grabbed a few. I wish I'd had my shottie - it was an amazing sight. Apparently this happens around here every year. Anyone else seen similar? Badsworth

badsworth
did you not get any camera footage................ If you had met our head keeper you'd know why I didn't try to film it - but I'm going again next week so I'll keep my eyes open for a chance.
