iain
Shot over 40 of these. This one blew a primer. Put 40 rounds through no problem. These are 55 grain fmj factory ammo. Found bit of missing primer inside bolt when I stripped it. So anyone had this or knows what caused this.
Harnser
Could be a bad primer or could be the firing pin has a Sharpe edge to it and is piercing the primers . It needs to be sorted out quickly . By piercing the primers, gas can come back through the bolt face . Although most guns have a vent hole to allow gas in this circumstance to bleed of harmlessly . iain
I'm looking at a bad primer. Think they load these hot. In the other cases, The primers show signs of over pressure. Had a look at the pin couldn't see any sharpe bits will have another look with the magnifng glass.
shooting charley
I would not be too worried if you have checked your rifle and all is ok i would say it's a bad primer. shootingcharley.

Harnser . As said above, de-cock the bot and examine the firing pin under magnification. Then reduce the load or return the batch of ammo as they are factory , increased pressures can be created by hot weather. Also inspect any more you have for poor primer seating. Once this has occurred you should strip the bolt and clean internally as little fragments of metal can block the firing pin falling effectively Edited August 11, 2013 by kent
