figgy
Just got my new Cabelas Ultimate Big Man Hunting Waders and a Herters Foultech Plus jacket. Got to say the quality looks superb but my oh my are they big. The Waders are size Us 15, UK 14 as I take a 12/13 in a shoe and wellies etc should be at least a size bigger so can get a pair of wader socks on underneath. My legs are like tree trunks so the regular waders are too tight on my calfs and legs, the body of the waders are big enough to get all your jumpers and jacket inside. The boots on the waders are wide fitting and very comfy with plenty of toe wiggling room, makes a nice change for me. Only problem with the Waders is the width of the shoulder straps one or other slips off my shoulder same problem with all shoulder straps for me so ill have to put a small strap across the back to keep the straps on my shoulders. The fit is loose like a rubber or vinyl wader so should get some air movement in them when walking onto marsh, rather than second skin like most neoprene ones. They stretch well and dont restrict in anyway and hopefully will last a long time. The chest pocket has elasticated shell holders and outside of pocket has hand warmer pockets. Two plastic D rings puzzled me untill looking on Cabellas at related items, as you can buy an extra pocket with clips for for carts and stuff so if you bend over your gear don't tip out. The Herters foul tech plus jacket is a good match for the grass cammo on the waders and is also very generous in size xxxl, so no problems with restricted movement on mounting gun or clambering about. Trying them both for size in the house was like a sauna session. So looking forward to the cold water fowling weather this season to give them a proper run. The main reason for this post is I know a few folks have already bought from Cabelas and are happy others are thinking about it. I'm glad I did, but would order the jacket a size smaller if I could after trying on ,the gear I got is very generous in size. UK XXXL is normally ok or a bit tight under arms when moving about the US XXXL is probably four to five xl in UK sizing. Figgy
happy.plinker
Hello Figgy.I've the same problem with wader straps, try crossing them over on the back like an X so they're clipped to the opposit ones to normal, never had them slip once. A trick from a trawlerman. HP.

figgy
Thanks for the tip that's what i do with the straps on my vinyl ones now. Don't think it would work on my new waders as the straps are shaped out of the waders, hence the little strap ill have to rig up. I will try it first if not to uncomfortable and dont stress the neoprene ill wear the straps crossed. Dawntredder hope these waders last that long. Shame Greys dont' make them bigger, local company too. figgy Edited August 24, 2013 by figgy
