Fatcatsplat
I've got 3 dogs - Clumber bitch aged 4, Clumber/Lab cross aged 2 and just got myself a new Clumber pup, full of energy and poo at 4 months. Question is I have been asked to register at the Kennel Club as the owner and to give them lots of money for the privilege - Is it worth it? I might have a go at breeding from the bitch next season (not by the pup). She is/was registered as Wigeon of Kent and I assume still is, so what's the point of me registering as owner? Any ideas? Dave1087
If you are going to breed her and register the put then yes but you will have to have her hips scored and eyes checked befor you look at breeding her from a responses bull point of view To have the hip score done you need to proof you are the owner and it gets sent to the kennel club Hope this help
lee-kinsman
Its only £15 per dog to register it in your name and yes it's worth it regardless of yout intentions to breed it. Agree totally with Lee, and another thing to consider is that until you do register the new pup in YOUR name as far as the KC are concerned the breeder still retains ownership of that pup. If you don't register him/her in your name and you later wish to breed from him/her it will cause problems. If you want the litter registered you will have to go back to the breeder, who is still the "owner", and they will have to contact the KC to transfer ownership ..... and you'll still have to pay the £15. All well and good until you find the breeder/owner has moved house and you cannot locate them. For the sake of 15 quid do yourself a favour and get the pup registered in YOUR name now.
