Dave-G
I had another bit of a pop with the Yukon Photon. It really only needs a small amount of IR which is why it's so easy to get up close and personal with them at air rifle ranges. I'd forgotten to take out my low power IR module for the 501B torch so made do with the 1 watt ebay IR module which is still just a tad more than needed. I ought to de-focus it a bit more and glue the spacer to the brass pill to dim it a bit more if I use it again. I had a play with a couple of 3 mode 501b torch modules too: I'm 'some bloke' on some other forums see.

Dave-G
Nice vid Dave....when you put a 501b infrared illuminator on the side of the photon how far can you see with it...and how far will the 501b throw a beam with the red led in it...cheers That all depends on the conditions on the night Tony, I hate making quotes like you ask because there are so many variables in the weather - and the IR itself. Look at the vid(S) - and the hedges etc behind the quarry and listen to the audio - i know - it's boring that innit?
