Gun in hard case .... Use motorbike cable wrapped around case handle and attached to Luggage fixtures in boot of car with padlocks .... Aldi long shackle alarmed padlock over case handle.

+1

I bought a long cable with end loops, designed for bikes, about 1.5 m long, keep wrapping round the plastic case until slack is taken up , then padlock it to the tie down shackle in the boot

to remove it you will have to smash everything up, not impossible, but you would not remove it on a whim, you would have to go in 'hard'

with tools

no perfect but .......

The FO that came out for my inspection said that in cases where cars get stolen with guns inside them, just having the gun locked to the chassis was often not considered a sufficiently reasonable precaution if leaving the vehicle unattended. He advised always taking the fore-end with you, as there would then be little chance of licensing problems if the car got nicked.

If staying in a hotel in a group, swaps stocks, barrels and fore-ends amongst yourselves, so that an opportunistic thief can't get away with a working gun by just burgling one room.

the serial numbers might not match but if you all had the same mass produced gun it could well function...... Edited by HDAV
