I've been, Last December (05)

Simply the best place I have ever been. I said to the Mrs, had I been a single man - I wouldn't have got on the plane home...

Fly fishing is a must. Do you have any idea about which of the 2 islands you will be visiting? Perhaps both ??

As the things to see and do vary depending on where you want to go.

North island, for Auckland and some of the other more "urban" things to see and do

South island is a lot more green.

Hi. I was fancying going to New Zealand for a vacation later in the year. Has anyone been and any suggestions of things to do?

Cheers ears.

ps. Happy New Year. All the best for 2007!

Main suggestion is take enough money so you can live there for the rest of your like cos you sure as hell won't want to come back to this **** hole once you've been there !!!

Only visited North Island (got a Sister there) but things to see include the mud springs, far northern tip of the country (Cape Reinga) , 90 mile beach, Bay of Islands, Millionaires Bay, Lake Taupo, loads more if you'd like more info just PM and I'll send it. I've a bunch of maps you are welcome to borrow to plan your stay, next time I go I'm hiring a motorhome and travelling about a fair bit, when you add up the cost and compare it to hiring a car and stating in hotels it's a good way to go I reckon.

Not really sure tbh where I'll be going. Would like to see both north and south island.

I'm sure its different story living there than just going for a holiday? Only ever met one kiwi and she said that they hate foreigners, they only like you if your going back from where you came. I guess that can be said of British as well? House prices are going through the roof there and she blames the immigrants for that and stealing jobs!

Maybe she was just mad?

As far as I know Building Surveying isn't a recognised profession there but is in Oz. Don't know what the economy is like?
