Paddy Galore!
Paddy, I am sorry mate but I have been sitting on the computer now for a couple of hours having had a great day at the Norfolk Flush and of course probably now onto my 5th or 6th large low flyer so I am not going to go up and get the rifle out and measure it as I would probably break my neck. Suffices to say that it is the 455 varmint that I have. I hope that some one might be able to give you the info, if not I will check it out for you tomorrow. I will say that the LEI is great and fits the barrel near on perfect but is not any better performance wise than the SAK, however I am sure the LEI will last a very long time. no worries mate, if it's a varmint it'll probably be as thick as my sako barrel. did i mention that i once bought a 3rd eye tactical hmr mod? it's supposed to slip over the barrel to help reduce the length but my barrel was too fat to fit i ended up getting it bored out and it now sits on the .22. i do like the idea of the mod and barrel being the same O/D though. I had the same problem with the very, very large mod I got for my 300 win mag, Thankfully it was built so that the bushing could be skimmed out. Phew! i couldn't do that with the 3rd eye, while it looks like there's plenty of meat in the end once i'd taken it apart i saw that the threaded insert was fluted, a funny old set up, i called 3rd eye and they said i'd have to use an end cap, made of plastic
Blunderbust
Funny you should say that, I am sure that the base of my mod was of a very hard nylon/plastic material. You could not determine this by touch but when Chris at Wymondham skimmed it, it certainly looked like plastic. I have to admit, now that it is set up it does a cracking job, admittedly not at the noise suppression but for taming the recoil it is great,
