oscarsdad
Don't faff about with chemicals and buckets of water, use the washing machine. Skin the animal and scrape off all fat and membranes (carefully if it's a rabbit as they can tear easily). Get an old pillow case / duvet cover depending on the size / number of pelts. Stick skins into pillow case with a double dose of biological washing powder). Wash on delicates cycle at 30C. Then wash again with a double dose of softener and no washing powder. Take them out to dry and to get soft leather work in a load of moisturiser or hand cream. Much easier and quicker than traditional methods. Just don't tell the wife.
