Cosd
Ok, so had my Landy now for just over 2 years and got my first real problem. Could smell diesel at the rear of the car after parking up. Turns out this was a recall issue back in 2004 which my car did have done, but leaking fuel pipe is back. I'm no mechanic but happy to get my hands dirty. So after a bit of lying on wet ground with fuel dripping on me and a bit of internet reading, I've found the problem and repair should take no longer than 1/2 hour once the part comes tomorrow. The green fuel pipe is the common one which fails. Ordered from here: http://www.landroverserviceparts.co.uk/acatalog/info_YNI500030K.html And here is a pictorial on how to change all four pipes, but this gives you enough detail to locate green fuel line and change it over without removing the petrol tank: http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=23450 Hope this helps if anyone has a similar issue. Even if you don't like getting your hands dirty, it gives you an idea what the job involves so you don't get ripped off at the mechanics. aga man
been there done that! there's also a pipe in the engine bay that goes from the egr cooler to the header tank, again hard plastic that either chafes or cracks and can cause major water loss/overheating.
