rtaylor
I'm going to try and make a new stock from my CZ .22. I want to try a thumbhole stock for it, I can get the rough dimensions of the original stock but if anyone has a thumbhole one for this rifle and would be very kind to give me a few measurements for it, it would be much appreciated. I think the position of the thumbhole is the bit I can only guess at the most, I should be able to adjust the rest to suit me. r1steele
Go onto the Boyds gunstocks website and have a look at the stock for your rifle. It gives some dimensions but not sure if there is enough information for what you need. Worth a look though,

sonicdmb
get yourself some hardboard or 1/4" ply and make a template or two to try. At the end of the day it's what fit you not the compromise mass produced dimensions that matters. A good start would be to draw round your stock filling the dip behind the bolt and making the pistol grip a bit more upright then go from there. That's how I'd start it anyway. rtaylor
Good idea, now why didn't I think of that. I've sketched out the old stock and like you say filled in the dip behind the action. I'll make a template up tonight and see how it feels. Cheers mate. bicykillgaz
I found the boyds to be quite short in the stock
