mry716
I am no longer able to source RCBS spray lube conveniently so purchased a tin of Lyman as an alternative. I used it for the first time today and although the lube works fine it is affecting my hands. I am never allergic to chemicals certainly not of a normal domestic nature so am extremely surprised at my reaction. I notice it most specifically in the web between finger and thumb where the bar of the press is rubbing as I constantly push it down to resize. it has taken about 15 mins to occur after first using the press. The effect is the same both in feel and visual effect as stinging nettle. Red with whitish lumps and excessive itching. Anyone else using this and finding a similar occurrence? dunganick
havent found this with any of the spray lubes although didnt use the lyman for long (not sure why) sounds weird to me, spray someone else with your lube and see if they have the same reaction
JohnGalway
I used to get those same symptoms when using Jeyes Fluid neat, now I use surgical gloves or don't use it. I appreciate however that gloves may interfere too much with reloading.
hafod
Hope you dont mind me chiming in but why dont you make your own spray lube gents a jar of pure lanolin and a litre of denutured 90% alcohol spray it on your cases allow them to dry then size been using it now for the last few months and works great I.ve had no oil dents no stuck cases or wrinkled cases its brilliant and its as slick as snot as the saying goes lol But seriously a jar of pure lanolin and a litre of 90% pure (dont use less than 90 % ) denutured alcohol and you.ve got a lifetimes supply of the best case lube you.ve ever used beats , lyman ,rcbs hornady , lee etc any day of the week Once you have mixed it put it in one of those little travel spray bottles then give it a shake and spray it does have a tendency to separate when stood for a while but a couple of brisk shakes and it remixes fine plenty of recipes on YouTube for making your own try it I don't think you.ll buy any commercial lubes again and pennies to make compared to a tin of hornady one shot for example Edited August 26, 2020 by hafod
