nderfel
Dorset are giving me the run around at the moment, had my application since mid December, cashed the cheque no problem but absolutely no contact at all. Well done you anyway!
nderfel
Mark, It's a long shot but how did you did your shooting locally, knocking on doors? I have 2 permissions but they are hours away and I am not having any luck in Dorset ( I live in Bournemouth)
markws80
It is hard to get shooting land I was lucky met a farmer through a m8 and ask about shooting on his land It started with shotguns pigeon/crows then as time went on and we got to know each other better I ask about using rifles he said yes I now shoot bunny's with .22 foxes .22-250 and deer 243 and in the farming world they all know each other and he recommended me to do vermin control, I went round to see land owners and introduce my self and got other bits of land Edited February 4, 2014 by markws80
nderfel
yeah , its getting that foot in the door isnt it.... thats the key. I shall continue to trawl about. Phoned Dorset police again this morning and my application is with the licensing officer so gave her a call to arrnage the face to face. Its the same person as for my SGC and they were fantastic. Tom596
Maybe a bit off thread , I am just about to put in for FAC in Dorset, also live in Bournemouth, had an SGC for a while and got a couple of permissions back home, same old for getting local permissions! What's the situation with the new FAC forms and land usage? Dorset have that additional information form for land/club specifics, did you guys do one for each permission? All the best, Edited February 4, 2014 by Tom596

nderfel
Tom, I did fill one out per permission, I also included the signed permission forms from the landowner too, you never know it might speed things up
Tom596
Thanks, Wasn't sure what the score was with the new forms. The more you can do the better! Thanks again.
