kenj Posted February 14, 2014 Report Share Posted February 14, 2014 Seeing the flooding widespread flooding throughout the south and the west, what is happening to all the rabbits, foxes and deer. malantone Posted February 14, 2014 Report Share Posted February 14, 2014 when land Is flooded Rabbits underground will drown, If they move out to higher ground then they will be ok, same goes for Foxes, Deer can swim and will have left the area but will return when things dry out. Rabbits can actually swim quite good, any who have seen will confirm (looks funny at first but they aint bad at it) flooded burrows must be a regular thing for them, one the grass is under for so long even the roots die though. Foxes will find a niche somewhere in it all some place like no garbage collections, drowned stock, explosion in the rat numbers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

malantone Posted February 15, 2014 Report Share Posted February 15, 2014 I don`t doubt that rabbits can swim, but if caught underground by a flood I thought they might struggle to get out. same with foxes there`s not a lot of room to swim in a den/burrow.
