i spent a year on a moped which forced me to have roadsense (everything else is out to kill you). i did a couple of lessons, did theory, then about 5 lessons and first test. examiner was a right thwait. didnt chat, really strict, no minors but one major for going to slow around a round about? work that one out. i had one more lesson then had another test. this time with a examiner who couldnt be more different BUT i also had a examiner examiner in the car too. and supprise suprise passed. one of my mates had same instructor as me (he couldnt drive for poop) had 20 lessons and passed. my other mates had other instructors and ranged from 30 to 60 lessons. the instructor i had was my dads m8 so wasnt gonna take the p. so take from that what you will. alltogether its a lot of money to get a car and people just accept its gonna take 30+ hrs of training. the simple answer is YES they do milk pupils, why wouldnt they? im now doing my bike training which is a whole different league and on a 650 makes you concentrate a little harder. for anyone who doesnt know it now takes 4 tests minimum now to get a full bike license so try pricing that up....

I've just taken my test, had it booked after 15hours but had a further 5 hours lessons plus 2 for the test so 22 in total. Failed my test 2 weeks ago because of a stupid mistake otherwise I'd have passed with 2 minors, bit pee'd off though as it's costing me nearly £200 for one silly mistake.

My instructor is an old friend so I know he won't mess me around but I'm sure there is plenty that do. He said he has some people who are naturals, some who take longer and some who are useless and he'd rather not teach as it just doesn't sink in and frustrates him.
