goober
I've just bought two ally half decoys on wooden pegs(with spring).I have tried to find info online and nothing can be found. Does anyone have any memories of these as they must be quite old.
Blunderbuss
I was a bit confused by your thread title, a random apostrophe makes it read as "she will decoy". I was wondering who "she" was? I'd be interested to see pictures of your aluminum shells though, I love old shooting kit. They must be quite old, 1950s? goober
Yes,apologies for the apostrophe. I'm trying to upload photo but can't seem to do it(I'm not too clever with my iPad!). The decoy is thick cast alluminium with patent number 14173.i have a couple of wooden decoys but haven't seen metal ones before. I will try and upload photo at some point. Blunderbuss
Are they painted? How realistic are they?
goober
Hi,they are well painted(Matt)and I pegged one out today to show an old friend(who brought me into pigeon shooting when I was 14)and was surprised that the motion was quite good due to the weight.I wouldn't have liked to carry a lot of these for too far! I've tried to copy and paste photo but I'm lost!

Blunderbuss
Somehow I was imagining really thin pressed/stamped metal. They look quite substantial, and heavy if you were carrying a load! Thanks for sharing, interesting bit of decoying history.
TDRsniper
Only ever seen one of these before, used to hold a mates garden gate open. Makes you thankful for modern kit really!
