subsonicnat Posted March 6, 2014 Report Share Posted March 6, 2014 Plus + 1. Re fit the fuel filler it`s drawing air in over night. It`s Called ( Diesel fall back ). Smear some grease round the top of the fuel filter to help seat and seal on re-fit. Same happened here mate EXACTLY, its getting air in the Filter housing or fuel pipe.. if you cannot PUMP the Pressure pump SOLID, thats your problem. drnobsac Posted April 2, 2014 Report Share Posted April 2, 2014 similar problem with my old transit,would get a initial fire up for a second and then die,removing the fuel filter revealed the problem.....empty!!!!turned out to be the mechanical lift pump had failed allowing the diesel to drain back into the tank overnight.Just a thought!
