Ferret Master
Wrong tool I know... but I use 28g of 6's through 1/2 choke in my 20 bore for rabbits when lamping around the hedgerows at the rugby club. I could use my airgun buts its not easy getting an accurate standing shot off at a rabbit moving around in the undergrowth so sometimes a shottie is the best tool. JohnGalway
It's easy to get a rabbit for the pot (no, I haven't eaten one yet as I use them as bait for fox and birdies) on my patch, with the shotgun. A little thinking goes a long way lads. Now, I'll qualify all of that by saying if you want a LOT of rabbits for eating regularly (or if you're on a wipe out mission) being as stealthy as possible then you can't beat a .22 silenced, and no, I don't have one of them but have heard them going off and read enough by experienced users so anywayyy. Where was I, oh yeah a bit of thinking. Observe your rabbit, mine have an adorable habit of running to the mouth of the burrow, ducking in, then sticking up their head to look at the commotion above ground, that strange bright thing and all. With me so far, good. Now's your time to strike, pellets hit the head, always killing said rabbit while leaving the edibles nice and lead free, just like petrol but more tasty, or so I've been told Here endeth the lesson

markbivvy
I have never used a shottie on a rabbit even though I have a 22 but for rabbiting I use 30g 6's and at close range that snookers'em well enough strange.
