Kes
I was out foxing last night and, as the temperature dropped, i kept getting condensation on the lenses of the scope, left hanging on a tripod whilst using the lamp. Saw 2 foxes, maybe called to less than 100 yds but 400 yds away by the time I had cleaned the lenses and sighted. Is it simply a matter of flip-ups ? Never had this as badly before, it happened 3 times last night and was not amusing. To cap it all the round I removed from the chamber left the bullet firmly lodged in the start of the rifling - obviously a home load to forget - felt the powder trickle on to my hand but it wouldnt have chambered another round. This has made me wonder about crimping - anyone had similar problems?

I resolved to carry a home made push rod and pull through whenever it was likely to be a big issue to go back to base.

As it was the last stand It wasnt a problem with the lodged bullet but I think it is wise to carry the rod. I used to do it when my reloading technique was poor and my re-sizing didn t seem 100%.
