thinxs
Has anyone ever put a shooting seat on the back door of a defender? Thinking that it could be bolted to the spare wheel studs and supported on the tow ball bracket, enabling to shoot over the roof.
byjovecarruthers
I reckon you'd be putting a lot if strain on the door hinges, I understood that sometimes the weight of the spare wheel alone can cause problems hence the popularity of swing away wheel carriers. thinxs
That's why I was thinking of a support strut down to the tow ball/hitch to take the weight.
Konnie
as BJC says lot of strain on hinges first try getting some kind of platform to see how high you will need to be to shoot you may be supprised how high you need to be.have heard of people putting a seat with harness on the front for rabbit shooting
mad1
I have a Dave cooper bike rack on my frontera and iv used it to stand on .. The bracket not the bike rack !? I got a length of box section and bent it so it was parallel to floor and ply wood over top ... If that makes sence ... I'll try to find a pic if I still have it .... But I'll be honest it wasn't that much use as you were stretched across roof :-( Edited March 26, 2014 by mad1
