rowland75
Appologies for the vague title. I live litterally next to miles and miles of woodland, and as far as im aware its privately owned, although has a footpath/bridleway running through. This woodland is left as free to roam, I walk through everyday with my dog. I would like to know if I can shoot on it but who do I ask and how do I find out who owns it? I have seen people going in with rifles, but that says nothing as theres always debris and holey cans littering the place (the dog usually chases the scroats out!). Any advise on what I should do? rowland75
I have yet to take a gun in there, but im dying to. Plenty of squirrels, rabbits, and pigeons. The dog has caught foxes in there but i'll stick to smaller animals. I will check that out and see what I can do. Cheers Pete
markbivvy
hi pete where abouts are you please. dog sounds a good un.
pin
Not saying you would go in there with a gun, but just so you know the offence if caught would likely be "armed trespass" which would pretty much put a stop to you owning anything more powerful than a spud gun - just not worth the risk. Better to nock on some doors and sort some permission out
rowland75
Boughton near canterbury, just off the A2. You can see the woods on a decent road atlas. My dog is great fun. Hes an Akita/Asatian cross second hand from Batterersea. He loves hunting foxes, rabbits, squirrels etc etc (Also caught 2 immigrants in the garden at 6am... ) Pete

rowland75
Cheers Pin Thanks for the heads up as I have been tempted. The neighbours already had a grumble about garden plinking so im sure i'd be done. I'll do some research first. Pete Mark it was great. A2 is the road noth from Dover, so the immigrants jumped off a lorry early doors and wandered up a slip road. Through the woods into my garden/drive. Wife went to get in car at 6.00, they jumped out on her, she screamed, front door still open......dog did what hes supposed to.....

Danger Mouse
**** "a second hand dog" never heard them called that before! As to the immigrants, well, the dog did well, shame you don't have a pack of them!
