ziplex
From the Bristol Evening Post.............. Whizz, a 12 stone Newfie is being hailed a hero for plunging into an icy pool to save another dog from drowning. He sensed the stricken animal's struggle while on a walk through the North Somerset countryside and darted into undergrowth. Seconds later he discovered Topper, who had escaped from his owner, paddling furiously in a disused watertank. The lost setter was unable to reach the high sill of the dark pool and was minutes away from drowning. But Whizz plunged in, grabbed Topper by the scruff of the neck and pulled him to safety............the story goes on about the owners fruitless search for the lost dog etc. The owner of the Setter ran into the owner of the Newfie just minutes earlier whilst still looking! Apparently the Newfoundland was the only one who realised the dog was in the tank. Thought it was rather a sweet story..............and no jibes at the unfortunate Setter's name!
