wingnut
I have fished this area quite a lot over the years, as a friend of the family owns the cottage - shop - and small caravan park there, caught quite a few good wrasse, dogfish and Bass just to the left hand side of the boulder breakwater, evenings and night time are good for large eels if using fish / squid baits, daytime use rag / squid/ crab. If you go to White Knothe you can get bass on the fly + surface plugs from the rocks along with wrasse, Pollack, I get the bait from Weymouth angling centre-their lugworms and rag worms are absolutely mahoosive. If you get the chance to go to Portland- fish near the lighthouse using float tackle for wrasse- gars-Pollack. Bridport pier is also worth a go when the Mackerel are about. WATCH OUT FOR SPIDER CRABS THEY ARE CAPABLE OF CUTTING THROUGH 80LB MONO TRACES TO ROB YOUR BAIT , I changed to steel trace hook link and we managed to land one when we last went, it was almost 2ft across !
